Doyen Medipharm has introduced a new version of its 4SS quick changeover four side seal packing machine, which is twice as fast as previous models.

Doyen Medipharm, a manufacturer of packing machinery for the medical and pharmaceutical industries, has introduced a new version of its 4SS quick changeover four side seal packaging machine, which is twice as fast as previous models.

The new 4SS Model 400 is a rotary machine that is claimed to run at 50 metres per minute, producing 400 packs per minute, which is double the current rotary 4SS four side seal packing machine performance.

The machine will package medical devices including wound care, diagnostic devices, drapes, catheters and sutures and can also be used to produce three side self-seal bags for hand packaging devices.

Maximum pack size is 330mm width x 500mm length.

The 4SS Model 400 was designed to meet medical industry demands for short runs of custom packaging.

The increase in speed has been achieved by improving the sealing characteristics through a combination of adding multiple sealing units and Doyen's patented pressure systems, said the company.

Coupled with a 100 per cent increase in throughput, the machine provides product change-overs in less than 10 minutes and can accommodate up to 50 pack designs in the product memory, added Doyen.
